Learn how your theater can effectively plan and implement special events for fundraising, donor prospecting, and community engagement.

The workshop will:
• Provide attendees with guidance for how to choose the right types of events for their organization, what capacity is needed to implement successful events, and what return-on-investment should be expected from various types of events.
• Cover best practices for event planning and management, venue selection, and the various type of fundraising activities that can be included in a successful event.
• Discuss how to utilize volunteers, committees, and Board members effectively, and establish events that are sustainable parts of your fundraising portfolio into the future.

Who Should Attend: Artistic Directors who wear multiple hats, Marketing and Development professionals who plan and implement special events as part of their role, Marketing or Administrative Managers looking to expand their fundraising knowledge, Fundraising volunteers, Board Members, Development and Arts Administration Consultants, Development Professionals, Executive Directors, Managing Directors, Stage and Production Managers seeking to expand their skill sets outside of production.

Presenter Biography
Meghan has twenty years of Development and Special Event management experience, including ten years as the Special Events Coordinator for the Basilica of St Mary in Minneapolis. She is responsible for all the fundraising events at The Basilica including the Masqueray Ball, Cities 97 Basilica Block Party and other fundraising events. She is a member and the recent past Board Chair of the International Special Events Society and worked on the committee for their annual awards show that recognizes event professionals for their work. Through this event, the Block Party won the award for Best Public Event and Best Marketing and Graphic Design for 2010 and The Masqueray Ball was given the Best Non-Profit award for 2011. Meghan was recently inducted into the MN Meeting and Events Magazine Hall of Fame as the Special Events Professional of the Year.
